David Beckham Join Chelsea?

Sources: by: Philip Duncan 14 July 2009

FORMER England captain David Beckham has changed his stance over a return to the Premier League, by revealing he would consider a move if it improved his chances of playing in the 2010 World Cup.

The LA Galaxy star will complete a six-month loan-spell after the Major League Soccer season ends in November.

Last season, the ex-Manchester United midfielder spent half a year at AC Milan under Carlo Ancelotti. And Beckham’s revelation that he would return to England’s top league has put the new Chelsea boss among the favourites to land the 34-year-old.

"I would definitely consider it," Beckham said of a move back to England.

"Never say never. When I left United I said I would never want to play for another English club.

"My heart was in Manchester - and I couldn't see myself wearing another shirt in the Premiership and playing against United. Now I couldn't rule it out."

Despite Chelsea’s interest, Beckham is likely to return to the San Siro when the MLS season draws to a close.

"Obviously Milan expressed that they want me to go back, so I don't see any reason why that would change," he added.

"We'll have to wait and see. I hope to be going back there."
